This policy explains what information MyTrickorTreat collects when you use mytrickortreat.com and our games, and what we do with it. We wrote it in plain language on purpose.

Who this site is for: MyTrickorTreat is meant for parents and families looking for Halloween fun and local pumpkin patches and attractions. We do not direct the site to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Our games and coloring pages may appeal to kids, so we ask that children use them with a parent or guardian. We never ask players for a real name, email, or any other personal detail to play.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child gave us personal information, email info@mytrickortreat.com and we will delete it.

What we collect

1. Contact form. If you write to us through the Contact page, we receive the name, email, phone number (optional) and message you type. We use it only to reply to you.

2. Games and leaderboards (Potion, Monster Smash, Halloween Maze).

   • Players do not type a name. If you join a leaderboard, you pick a spooky three-word name from a list we generate (for example, a creature and two other words).

   • To keep your name and scores together, the game creates an anonymous player ID in Google Firebase. It is not linked to your name, email, or account, because there are no accounts.

   • We store that ID, the generated name you chose, and your score. Leaderboards are public: anyone can see the name and score. Weekly boards reset each week.

   • Playing never requires joining a leaderboard.

   • Potion and Monster Smash also record that a game started or finished and which level, through Google Analytics (see below). They do not record anything about who you are.

3. Pumpkin patch map. The map only asks for your location if you tap the "show my location" button. Your location is used in your browser to center the map on you. We do not receive it or store it.

4. Coloring Studio. Pictures you color are processed in your browser. We do not receive or store them.

5. Analytics and technical data. When you visit, we and our tools automatically collect technical information, such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, time on page, and how you arrived. We use this to count visitors, fix errors, and improve the site. The tools are:

   • Google Analytics (Google), which uses cookies. We have Google signals turned off, and we keep Analytics data for the shortest period Google offers (2 months).

   • Visitor Analytics (visitor-analytics.io), a website statistics service.

   • Sentry, which reports technical errors so we can fix them.

   • Usercentrics, which runs our cookie banner and records your cookie choice.

   • Wix, which hosts the main site and uses its own cookies for security and basic operation.

   • Google Firebase, for the game leaderboards described above.

   • Google Maps, which draws the pumpkin patch map. These providers act on our behalf. Their own privacy policies explain how they handle data.​

6. Cookies. We use essential cookies the site needs to work, and analytics cookies. When the cookie banner appears, you can decline analytics cookies. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some features may not work if you do.  Our cookie banner uses standard wording that may mention advertising. We do not run advertising on this site.

What we do not do

• We do not run advertising on the site, and we do not use your information to show you targeted ads.

• We do not sell your personal information.

• We do not currently take payments on the site, and we do not ask for payment details on the games or coloring pages. If we start selling products, we will update this policy first to explain how payment and shipping information is handled.

 

How we use information To run and improve the site and games, answer messages, keep leaderboards working, keep the site secure, and meet legal requirements.

Sharing We share information only with the service providers listed above, when the law requires it, to protect our rights and safety, or if the business is sold or transferred (we would update this policy first).

How long we keep it Contact messages: as long as needed to answer you and keep a record. Leaderboard data: while the leaderboards run, and weekly boards reset; you may ask us to remove your entry. Analytics data: according to each tool's retention setting.

Your choices and rights You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, including leaderboard entries, by emailing info@mytrickortreat.com. We will answer within 45 days. California residents have the rights described in the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know, delete, and opt out of sale or sharing; we do not sell or share personal information for advertising. If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you may also object to or restrict processing and complain to your local data protection authority. We do not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals, but you can decline analytics cookies in the banner.

Security We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no website can promise perfect security.

Links to other sites We link to other sites, including social media and local attractions. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.

Changes If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date above.
